Dr. Kuppersmith in the Operating RoomThe mission of The Texas Institute for Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery is to provide personalized care to patients requiring surgery. We are focused on offering minimally invasive thyroid and parathyroid procedures with the goal of smaller incisions, or even hidden incisions, and faster recovery, while maintaining the outcome standards of traditional open surgery and reducing the risk of complications.

Our surgeons are experienced at performing the full range of thyroid and parathyroid procedures. Our surgeons use the latest technologies including laryngeal nerve monitoring, the Harmonic Scalpel (ultrasonic cutting and coagulation device), intraoperative rapid PTH assay, and other minimally invasive techniques. Our surgeons were among the first in the United States to offer robot-assisted thyroid surgery (thyroid lobectomy, total thyroidectomy) and parathyroid surgery (parathyroidectomy) with no neck incisions and have one of the largest experiences. They are actively engaged in international collaboration with their peers, educational outreach and research, keeping us on the forefront of the latest techniques and information in the field.

Conveniently located in Central Texas, patients from around Texas, the United States, and other countries frequently travel to receive care from our physicians. Read what some of our patients have been saying about their experience.
